Ilse Dedeken

Ilse’s West-Flemish company has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of deluxe linen products. She is a global supplier of high-level tailor-made designs and cooperated with Swarovski, top chefs Pascal Devalkeneer and Sergio Herman and the architect/designer Rodolphe Parente. Meeting the American ambassador was quite memorable for her. Ilse created a gift to commemorate the Battle of the Bulge. On top of that, the Nuée collection was awarded a Henry van de Velde and Design X50 label.

Ilse Dedeken was one of our first HERITISTS to come on board. We first met her in the Verilin weaving mill near Kortrijk where she was completing a new linen collection, managing a photoshoot and finalizing a creative proposal for a new client, one of the many chefs in her portfolio. Intrigued by our story she immediately wanted to get to work.

We discovered and felt so many beautiful fabrics in the weaving mill and started planning together which unique items we could feature in our HERITAGE-collection. Ilse’s work is a perfect example of pure craftsmanship combined with high-tech machinery and proves that premium Belgian design, including its storytelling, sometimes remains yet to be discovered by a significant part of the public.

RESPECT FOR PEOPLE, FOR CRAFTSMANSHIP AND FOR DURABLE MATERIALS IS SOMETHING ILSE DEDICATES HERSELF TO EVERY DAY.

Ilse grew up among linen. Her grandfather established the company sixty years ago. After a brief career as a certified appraiser, she decided to devote herself to her passion. She joined the family company and since then, Ilse has created artisan linen for top chefs, hotels and private individuals. She loves meeting people who help her push boundaries, who inspire her and for whom she can design and weave amazing creations. Because Ilse can only fully unleash her creativity and feel energised by what she does when she is challenged and surrounded by good vibes.

Always on the search for innovative creations, she often works with other designers. The combination of craftsmanship and local, high-tech machinery allows her to create high-quality linen, of which Ilse is rightly proud.

SHE HOPES THAT PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS CHERISH CRAFTSMANSHIP, QUALITY AND CUSTOMISATION.
